On Monday, June 29th, the Sunshine Coast Botanical Garden Society purchased the 40-acre property located at 5941 Mason Road. This was made possible by the generous donations of individuals and businesses who share the vision of a centre for horticultural learning in our community. These donations formed the down payment, and the Society will now continue to fundraise to pay off the mortgage as quickly as possible. Of the $1.6 million fundraising goal, $321,000 has been raised so far.

Now that the Society has title to the land it qualifies and has applied for $1.4 million in federal and provincial grants to start building the garden, all of which will be spent in our community.
